What happened to Ezra in the latest Pretty Little Liars episode?

I just finished watching "The Homecoming Hangover" on ABC family and Ezra leaves! I'm so confused--because according to the books which I've read, he should still be there! Also, on IMDb it says Ian Harding is in 18 episodes...? And could you tell me where Mr. Fitz went? THANKS!
