English-Spanish Spanish-English freelancers?

Since there are many thousands of experienced freelance translators in the marketplace, most with college degrees and many with ATA certification or the equivalent, it would be a rare company that would take a chance on a beginner who does not even have a resume. Your best bet would be to do an unpaid internship, pro bono work, or take some cles first. Translating is not as easy as you seem to think.
